We all love to look back on our memories, whether they're good or bad ones. And as we get older, those memories become priceless treasures that we hold on to cherish. The Museum of Brands in Notting Hill will be offering the chance to preserve those treasures with their special Donate A Memory Day later this month on Monday 26 September.
With support from the Heritage Lottery Fund, visitors to the museum can uncover and celebrate their memories with the museum's 12,000 exhibits including Victorian perfumes, 1930s chocolate bars and 1950s jukeboxes and toys. With the archive of items stretching right back to the Victorian Era, visitors on the day will be able to bring along their own items to donate to the museum.
Event co-ordinator Neil Ridulfa said: "We can find out when a product was first sold and by whom, but what are much more interesting historically are personal accounts. The older one becomes, the more valuable one's memories are to historians."
If you're 60 or over and would like to make a free visit, call the Museum of Brands on 020 7 908 0880 or e-mail them here to book your place.
