Here at Nottinghillgate.co.uk, we strongly believe that it's never too cold for ice cream. So even though it doesn't feel like summer, we've picked our favourite ice cream joints in Notting Hill. All you need to do is choose a flavour.
DRI DRI
Purveyors of local Italian gelateria, Dri Dri, 189 Portobello Road, say they're aiming to make the best ice cream in the world. Using original italian recipes, organic milk and shunning artificial flavourings, they make simple but beautiful tasting ice cream that's lower in fat than most others. The best choices are the traditional italian ones – stracciatella and pistacio.
GELATO MIO
Terribly indulgent flavours are Gelato Mio's speciality. Sweet creamy flavours include amarena (black cherry), bacio (chocolate and hazelnut) and biscotto (an Italian version of cookies and cream). But our favourite thing is their ice cream cake – made with two layers of your gelato of choice between sponge layers and decadent toppings. You'll find their delicious ice cream at 138 Holland Park.
FRAE
It's not strictly ice cream, but the health conscious out there should visit Frae, 47 Notting Hill Gate. One hundred per cent fat free and made as naturally as possible, Frae is simple and no fuss but it's also ridiculously tasty. Flavours include natural yogurt, green tea and a constantly-changing daily special and they're topped with either healthy blueberries, kiwi or coconut or naughty chocolate brownie or Oreo cookies.
