For our elderly readers who are looking for a quiter alternative to the Notting Hill Carnival, you're in luck. The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) are offering elederly residents a seaside break away from the sounds and the vibrant revellers of the Carnival.
The residents will be heading to Eastbourne on Saturday 27 August for some sun (hopefully!), sand and tranquility before the return trip on 30thAugust when the area quietens down.
Leader of the Council Sir Merric Cockell “sympathise[s] with older residents” and the “success of previous trips” has encouraged the RBKC to run the scheme again, which is now in its 8th successive year.
