Oink oink! Pigs are set to return to Holland Park after their successful experiement (no guinea pig puns here!) in the park last year.
The British Saddleback pigs, who will be looked after by grounds maintenance manager, Graham Vincent, will reside in Holland Park for two months to help restore the meadow area by weeding out neetles, brambles and bulbs; while their faeces fetilise the soil.
“Many visitors to the park, particularly children, thoroughly enjoyed seeing them [the pigs] and learning more about how they live,” said Vincent.
It is hoped that a variety of wildlife such as birds and insects will emerge and flourish once the meadow's transformation is complete.
Here's hoping our porky friends get an extended vacation!
