Locals seeking a place to take a breather from the hustle of bustle of Portobello Road or for place to give the kids a run-around are in luck. On Sunday 25 September, a new and vibrant park just off Portobello Road opened after public consultation.
The park, located next to All Saint's Church on Clydesdale Road, boasts an exciting play area for children and artwork dedicated to author and local John Michell. Improvements include new surfaces, plants and relandscaping the area.
And to coincide with the park opening, All Saints Church celebrated its 150th anniversary as well as Father Jonathan Brownsell's 35th year as parish priest.
Deputy Leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Councillor Nick Paget-Brown, said: "What better way to celebrate All Saint's 150 anniversary than to transform this underused corner of the area into a bright pocket park with something for all local residents whether they are one or 100-years old.
"I'd like to congratulate and thank everyone for their help in redesigning this open space and hope it will be enjoyed by many for years to come."
