Publisher's note: In this blog post, Chic&Seek, a local business where you can buy used designer clothes, writes about its upcoming Redistributing Fashion event. Redistributing Fashion is a free event being held at 20th Century Theatre Westbourne Grove on Friday 16 March 10am-8pm.
There’s a buzz in the air of Notting Hill for an upcoming celebrity fashion event that I keep hearing about wherever I go. It’s clearly not an event to be missed and I don’t intend to forgo an incredible opportunity to be the proud owner of some pretty serious designer clothing, lovingly cared for by celebrities such as TV Presenter Kirsty Young and model Poppy Delevigne amongst others.
It’s not that I want to look like these said celebs, but it’s certainly about picking up a designer bargain or two, or even three! The event - Redistributing Fashion - is curated by Chic&Seek founder Tara Nash-King.
Chic&Seek is an online clothing agency that sells carefully selected and pre-owned women’s clothes and accessories with brands including; Chanel, Burberry, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Christina Louboutin and Hermes at reduced prices between 50-80 per cent off their original retail price. Sound good?
The great thing about this event is that all the proceeds from the sale of these celebrity clothes goes to a local charity. The Rugby Portobello Trust is a youth, education and housing charity based in Notting Hill that has been working to provide young people in the area with a positive alternative to a life of crime, social deprivation and social exclusion. In the wake of 2011’s rioting and widespread public disorder, The Rugby Portobello Trust’s ongoing funding and work remains a critical element in ensuring the wellbeing of our neighbourhood and the future of its youth population. Could there be a better reason not to go to this event?
But that’s not all, Redistributing Fashion will also feature a carefully selected group of small local businesses selling everything from luxury labels at discounted prices, contemporary fashion, jewellery and accessories alongside a selection of lifestyle brands, all under one roof. It certainly gives us ladies and gentleman looking for the ideal gift, the perfect place to replenish our old winter wardrobe with the perfect spring looks.
Chill out and relax with other attractions on hand including: a “Health & Happiness” zone, a photo booth, a tarot card reading tent, Starbucks Coffee Bar throughout the day with a Prosecco Bar in the evening. It’s shaping up to be ‘the’ event of the season, so head on to Redistributing Fashion for the ultimate spring fashion fling!
Redistributing Fashion is at the 20th Century Theatre, Westbourne Grove, London, W11 2QA on Friday 16 March 10am-8pm. Free entry but donation on the door is welcomed.
